Whilst clearly seeking to broaden our client base, we endeavour to maintain a quality portfolio of retained clients. All our partners, consultants and professional staff are qualified Chartered Surveyors and members of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). With a clear emphasis on both practical and technical knowledge, our role is to empower our clients with the advice and support that their property holdings deserve. As an operational cost to a business it is frequently forgotten that the fixed costs of property are invariably second only to personnel, but significantly less fluid. Property holdings should therefore wherever possible be dealt with in a pro-active fashion, never more so than in a challenging economic climate. At an individual level we might therefore maximise the return of an investment holding through review or asset management strategies, or conversely minimise occupational costs for a tenant through disposal, review or rating appeals. Frequently however we will act as an 'out of house' estates department to our clients, enabling us to gain an in-depth knowledge of a clients property holdings with ensuing ability to provide advice at a strategic level. This is not something that can be learned overnight, but can only be built up over a period of time. It is a simple truism that trust is earned, not bought, and by developing a strong relationship with our clients we can provide the best possible advice.
Listed below is a broad selection of the Whitelaw Baikie Figes client base. Our client base constantly evolves, but it is fair to say that we have represented a large number of the companies listed for a significant period of years. When we negotiate on behalf of our clients, we do so with authority.
